Who knew the housewives of Orange County (I’ll save the REAL for your own intepretation) had some of the best mall shopping right in their backyard? Getting dressed with the perfect body (or paid for) is so much better with a spray tan, Right?
Enter Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza shopping center. SCP is ready and waiting for your future staycation.
Valet your car or if you’re like me just self-park. Why not begin the day at the South Coast Plaza spa with Aqua Yoga/Pilates. Who Knew? Then onto an invigorating South Pacific Creme body polish. Summer’s right around the corner, time to get your scrub on.
Don’t spend too much time in the spa-Momma’s gettin hungry. You head up to the 3rd floor by Nordstrom’s and enter Marche Moderne. It’s all about their Charcuterie. Triple dare ya – say Charcuterie 4times fast! You go for figs and a little blue cheese with proscuitto…mmmmm.
As charcuterie coma settles in your server gives you a hot tip, Nordstrom’s Spa has the exclusive on Minx nail appliques. Beyonce of course sports the Minx. You test drive your toes. Black and white checkerboard, you’re in Gwen Stefani’s hood sista.
Just about half-way through your day. By golly it’s time to SHOP!

Personally I about did a double take at St. John’s boutique. With a new head designer in tow, SJK has been reborn. Hip Hip Hooray.
Power-walk the mall over to Bloomie’s Space NK Apothecary for a few of London’s most exclusive beauty lines. (Think Sephora but British style).
Oh HAPPY hour- Martini’s and Kobe sliders at Charlie Palmer’s chic and sleek lounge. Laker’s on the big screen anyone?
You’re way too tipsy and tired to get back on the 405. Who says you have to? Leave your car where you parked it, no need for a DUI crossing Anton. Just tell security.
W’s parent hotel, the Costa Mesa Westin checks you right in. Your final activity for the day- the lounge in the lobby. Ambient tunes splash beneath a beautiful outdoor waterfall. You finish your evening off with a couple Kir Royale’s and stumble up to bed. Whose a tired kitty?
Wake up in the morning for your own quick brew of Starbuck’s right in the room. How’s that for a quick holiday?
Did you know that South Coast Plaza is an internationally recognized shopping zone for the rich and wealthy, many buying homes right in the area. Don’t be surprised if you run into a couple Saudi, sheik’s shopping.
With all this luxury at your fingertips, one things for certain- you’ll leave inspired and tired. Now that’s my kinda work-out.
